The Taylor Technologies Foundation Car Raffle 2019 benefiting The Hanover Road Association
OFFICIAL RULES –The Taylor Technologies Foundation 2019 Car Raffle (“Raffle”) is open to legal residents of the fifty United States and Dystric of Columbia, age eighteen (18) or older at time of entry. Void where prohibited by law. Employees and members of The Taylor Technologies Foundation and their immediate families and households are not eligible to win. Officers of The Hanover Road Association are also not eligible to win. All federal state, and local laws and regulations apply. The Taylor Foundation (Sponsor of this raffle) is a 501c3 non-profit organization in the state of Maryland and is hosting this Raffle to benefit the Hanover Road Association (beneficiary).
TIMING: Raffle begins at 1:00pm on September 28, 2019 and ends at 4:00pm on November 3, 2019. The Sponsor of this raffle is timekeeper has the final responsibility for tracking receipt of entries, however, they will be receiving assistance from the Hanover Road Association (beneficiary).
HOW TO ENTER: Donations are not tax-deductible contributions. One (1) ticket equals one (1) entry into the Raffle. Each ticket is $50.00. Entrant must keep track of their ticket stub(s). Once a ticket has been purchased, the entrant has agreed to a non-refundable policy unless otherwise stated by the Sponsor of the Raffle. Tickets will primarily be sold during the Fall Fest at Spring Meadows Station. As necessary, we might move the car to various community venues to promote this raffle as necessary. In addition, we hope to ask the Hanover Road Association to have their membership get involved to increase ticket sales as well.
No ticket sales will be made by mail or phone. Payment can be cash, or check payable to the Taylor Technologies Foundation, Inc. If tickets are purchased at the site of the car our representatives can also accept major credit cards. Your statement will reflect a charge to the Taylor Technologies Foundation, Inc. If an entrant’s payment is dishonored by the bank or credit card company, the entry will be declared invalid unless full payment is made in good funds no later than 3:00pm on November 3, 2019.
PRIZE and Approximate Retail Value (ARV): One (1) 2004 Ford Mustang Cobra Convertible ($34,000 ARV). Any expenses not mentioned above are the winner’s responsibility. Winner is responsible for all state and local taxes, license, title and registration fees. Prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash. No substitution for prize except as may be necessary due to unavailability, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded, at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. In the event that the specific prize advertised is damaged or destroyed before it is awarded to the winner, the winner will be awarded a substitute cash prize of $5,000.00. Prize supplier/manufacturer is not affiliated with the sponsorship, endorsement, administration or responsibility for this Raffle. Sponsor specifically disclaims all express or implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, regarding the prize. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Prize is not guaranteed to be awarded. In the event that ticket sales do not reach a total that covers the ARV of the Prize, all entrant’s payments will be refunded, and this raffle canceled.
WINNER will be selected in a random drawing under the Sponsor’s supervision at 4:00pm on November 3, 2019. The decisions of the Sponsor regarding all matters relating to the Raffle are final. Potential winner does not need to be present and will be notified via phone, email or mail. The winner will be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release (“Affidavit”) that must be returned within fourteen (14) days of the date and time of notification or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected at random. The winner will be required to furnish his or her social security number that will be used only for the purpose of reporting the winner’s prize earnings to the Internal Revenue Service. Any prize notification or prize returned as undeliverable will be awarded to an alternate winner selected at random. If more than one name is indicated on winning entry, prize will be awarded to the first name listed. Prize must be picked up from Spring Meadow Station within thirty (30) days after winner’s completed Affidavit is received and winner is acknowledged by Sponsor to be the certified winner. Prize acceptance constitutes permission (except where prohibited) to use winner’s name and likeness for publicity purposes without additional compensation.
GENERAL: Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. Entrants, by participating in this Raffle, hereby waive and release, and agree to hold harmless the Sponsor, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents, from and against, any and all rights, claims and causes of action whatsoever that they may have, or which may arise, against any of them for any liability for any matter, cause of anything whatsoever, including but not limited to any injury, loss, damage, whether direct, directly or indirectly, from their acceptance, possession, use or misuse of, or inability to use a prize in the Raffle, or their participation in the Raffle, or their participation in any Raffle or prize-related activity, or any travel related to the Raffle, or any travel for any prize-related activity. All issues and questions concerning these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Raffle, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Maryland, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of Maryland or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than Maryland State.
